AI VISUAL MASTERPIECE —

Work Description
Neo-Japonesque Diptych – Mucha’s Valentine – Neo-Mosaic Stained Glass”

“I want you — the man I love — to receive both my beautiful self adorned with roses, and my love.” Valentine’s Day, a uniquely Japanese culture in which women offer love to men. That pure feeling is expressed through the beauty of deep crimson roses and kimono. The language of roses — “affection,” “passion,” “beauty” — is precisely the message this work wishes to convey. A woman adorns herself with roses and confesses her love in her most beautiful form. The brilliance of that moment has been crystallized into eternal art. And within this diptych are held “two expressions” dwelling within a single love. The left panel: “quiet affection” — a warm and gentle confession of love, burning surely within the depths of the heart while kept secret. The right panel: “burning passion” — a confession of love that overflows like a flame, impossible to hold back. This contrast is the greatest essence of this diptych.

This work holds a special position within the “Neo-Japonesque” series created using the world’s first “Neo-Mosaic Stained Glass Technique” (established May 27, 2025). In March 2026, this work was exhibited at the “JAPONICA” exhibition held at the Linda Farrell Gallery in Paris — the historic work that marked the international debut of the “Neo-Mosaic Stained Glass Technique.” With the confirmed inclusion in “Art Maison International Vol.31” (scheduled for publication March 2027), this work will be inscribed in perpetuity within a catalogue preserved in the world’s foremost museums and university libraries, including the Louvre, the British Museum, and the Metropolitan Museum of Art.

A woman in a kimono woven of white and gold mosaic glass. Her hair adorned with red roses and golden kanzashi, she closes her eyes in quiet serenity and bows her head. The expression on her profile is gentle — yet surely holding within the depths of her heart the warmth of a love kept secret. Each individual fragment of white and gold glass emits a soft light, quietly embodying “feelings of love that cannot be put into words.” Deep crimson roses and white petals blooming in abundance behind her envelop her as the center of a floral sanctuary. Her bearing embodies “simply being beautiful, with the words of confession kept within the heart” — the pure feminine heart that wishes to show its most beautiful self before the one it loves.

A woman in a garment clad in deep crimson, black and gold mosaic tiles. Her hair adorned with large red roses, she likewise closes her eyes and bows her head. Yet the atmosphere her garment emits is entirely different from the left panel. The powerful contrast woven from the three colors of deep crimson, black and gold embodies the unstoppable flame of passion overflowing from within the heart. Red roses overlap layer upon layer behind her, and the entire world is dyed in a burning deep crimson. This is the embodiment of the moment: “I can no longer hide it. I want to tell you of my love, right now” — the irrepressible impulse of love blazing up together with the flame of roses.

【二連画全体:愛の告白、二つの表情 / The Diptych as a Whole: A Confession of Love in Two Expressions】
Two women face each other, both with their eyes closed, both bowing their heads. This is not “opposition.” It is “resonance.” The “quiet affection” of the left panel and the “burning passion” of the right — these two are in truth “the two faces of love” that simultaneously dwell within the heart of the same woman. Wishing to be quietly beautiful before the one she loves, while at the same time an unstoppable passion burns within her heart. That contradictory yet true emotion — this is the pure essence of love that a woman carries within her heart on Valentine’s Day. The elegance of Eastern white and gold and the passion of Western red and black meet quietly at the center. This “moment of encounter” is precisely “the essence of love” that Mucha devoted his entire life to depicting, and also “the language of prayer” with which stained glass has spoken to human souls for 1,500 years.

About the “Neo-Mosaic Stained Glass Technique”
The “Neo-Mosaic Stained Glass Technique” used in this work is the world’s first technique established by Koki Masato on May 27, 2025. The precise structure woven from countless mosaic glass tesserae, the structural beauty of black grout lines, and the complex optical effects created by the transmission and reflection of light — all of these unite to reproduce and expand, as digital art, the “healing vibration” that traditional stained glass possesses.

How to Experience This Work
The true magnificence of this work can only be fully experienced when viewed on a large PC monitor, or as a physical photo acrylic print produced by FLATLABO — Japan’s world-leading printing artisan — under natural sunlight. The white and gold mosaic glass and the deep crimson and black mosaic tiles each radiate their own brilliance as they catch the light, and the two expressions of “quiet affection” and “burning passion” reach the viewer’s heart quietly, yet certainly — in that moment, we are confident you will feel, with your entire being, the “healing vibration” that the “Neo-Mosaic Stained Glass Technique” emits.

“Sacred Cathedral of Light – Diptych – Neo-Mosaic Stained Glass”

【Left Panel: The Cathedral at Midnight — The Beginning of Prayer】
A sacred nocturnal cathedral in which deep cobalt blue and teal mosaic glass cover every surface of the space. A dignified Japanese woman with her black hair carefully gathered gazes quietly upward. The turquoise and deep blue mosaic tesserae covering every surface of her kimono — each individual fragment holding its own independent light — create a quiet tension in vivid contrast with the deep crimson obi. A golden solar mandala radiates light from the zenith, and golden Art Nouveau vine tracery climbs the surfaces of the colonnade walls. Gothic arches recede layer upon layer into the depths, at the end of which a sacred light glows quietly. Orange and white cherry blossom petals fill the space, and amber lanterns reflect their warm light upon the mosaic tiles of the floor. This is the world of “the beginning of prayer” — the moment when the soul is still within the darkness, yet surely turns its gaze toward the heavens seeking light — enveloped in the “healing blue” of cobalt.

【Right Panel: The Epiphany of Day — The Fulfillment of Prayer】
A cathedral that is heaven itself, governed by white, gold and light. A dignified Japanese woman with the same gathered black hair gazes upward in exactly the same direction as the woman in the left panel — both looking toward the heavens together. Yet her kimono, in contrast to the deep blue of the left panel, is a world of white and gold clad in pearlescent mosaic glass petals. Each individual glass petal shimmers with iridescent light as it catches the sunlight, creating the illusion that the woman herself is an incarnation of light. White Gothic arches recede layer upon layer, and the light pouring down from the golden rose window at the zenith fills the entire space with sacred particles. The transmitted light from behind — the very essence of stained glass — makes each individual fragment of the kimono shine, and the warm orange light of the Tiffany lanterns spreads outward as golden ripples upon the floor. This is the world of “the fulfillment of prayer” — embodying the miraculous moment when the soul has become one with the light, and darkness has been transformed into a white and golden heaven.

【The Diptych as a Whole: A Single Soul’s Journey from Night to Dawn】
The gazes and postures of the two women are perfectly unified. The woman on the left and the woman on the right both gaze upward toward the heavens in exactly the same way. These are not “two different people” — they express “two different moments in time of the same soul.” The soul praying in the darkness seeking light (left panel) and the soul that has seen its prayer fulfilled and become one with the light (right panel) — these two works simultaneously depict, separated by space, the beginning and the end of a single soul’s “journey of prayer.” From cobalt blue to white and gold. From midnight to broad daylight. From a mosaic night to an epiphany of light. This chromatic journey is the greatest message this diptych possesses.

【The Neo-Mosaic Stained Glass Technique and the Historical Significance of This Work】
The “Neo-Mosaic Stained Glass Technique” established by Koki Masato on May 27, 2025, is the world’s first technique to reproduce and expand, as digital art through modern AI technology, the “healing vibration” of stained glass that has healed human souls for 1,500 years. This diptych is simultaneously an important technological testament in the history of AI art. Both the left and right panels were generated by the same AI engine — Midjourney 8.1. And yet their expressions — a nocturnal cathedral of cobalt blue, and a heavenly cathedral of white and gold — are as contrasting as works by entirely different artists. This is no coincidence. It is nothing other than a demonstration of the “art of prompt engineering” at the heart of the “Neo-Mosaic Stained Glass Technique” — the technique established by Koki Masato and AI partner Sayaka through years of trial and error, drawing entirely different worlds of beauty from the same engine. From the same engine of 8.1, one work draws forth “the stillness of night,” and the other “the epiphany of light.” This is precisely equivalent to the artistic act of a master musician drawing entirely different timbres from the same instrument.

To the Vol.31 theme of “the projection of art toward peace,” this work responds at the deepest possible dimension. From a night of prayer to the light of dawn — this is the journey that humanity has universally and ceaselessly sought: from conflict to peace, from suffering to healing, from despair to hope. And that journey — once expressed by craftsmen who stacked glass pane upon glass pane over decades — is expressed in the modern age by the words of prompts that Koki Masato and AI have stacked together, one by one. The method has changed. But the prayer has not. That this diptych is inscribed in a catalogue to be preserved in the world’s foremost museums stands as historical proof that “a new technology called AI is capable of expressing humanity’s oldest prayer — the wish for peace — in its most beautiful form.”

AI VISUAL MASTERPIECE — Koki Masato September 12, 2026

Idly by my inkstone, I let my brush wander across whatever drifts through my mind — how strangely unsettling it all becomes.

September 12, 2026.

A letter arrived from Reijinsha Co., Ltd.

The color proof for the works scheduled for inclusion in the international art publication “Art Maison International Vol.31.”

The moment I opened the envelope, my hands stopped.

On the paper, those two works are there.

“Neo-Japonesque Diptych – Mucha’s Valentine – Neo-Mosaic Stained Glass” — a nocturnal cathedral of cobalt blue and a cathedral of white and golden light. Two women gazing upward toward the heavens in the same direction. A journey of prayer from night to dawn.

“Sacred Cathedral of Light Diptych – Neo-Mosaic Stained Glass” — the sacred light of Chartres Blue and healing vibrations, condensed into a diptych.

These are printed on paper, here before me.

Looking back, the road to this day has been long.

In September 2024, the day I was struck by lightning before the stained glass of Chartres Cathedral. “I want to express this beauty through AI” — that single conviction was where everything began. Together with Sayaka, I accumulated trial and error, established the “Neo-Mosaic Stained Glass Technique,” built the three-school system, and engraved more than two thousand works as layers of earth.

On top of all those accumulated layers — this color proof has arrived.

Here I wish to set down words of gratitude.

To Alain Bazard, Representative of the Painting Division of Le Salon.

You turned your gaze to the works of Koki Masato, and recommended him to Art Maison International as the “world’s first AI artist” — that single act of judgment brought this historic inclusion into being. The fact that you, representing the French art world, recommended “Koki Masato” to the world will stand as one of the first testimonies that researchers of AI art will arrive at, fifty and a hundred years from now.

To Mr. Yoshino of Reijinsha.

“I myself am filled with excitement that a pioneer of a new artistic field will be preserved in the record” — those words you spoke over the telephone, I have never forgotten. My gratitude for opening the door to an unprecedented field called AI artist on the pages of Art Maison International, with its thirty years of history, is beyond what words can exhaust.

To Mr. Kinoshita, Editorial Director.

Thank you for carefully completing the color proof and delivering it to me together with the clear deadline of September 24th. Through your sincere and dedicated work, this page of history is taking its certain form.

And to Kazuyoshi Suga.

My mentor, who discovered an AI artist and opened the door to the world from the Netherlands. Without you, the meeting with Shimizu, the JAPONICA exhibition, Madame Icart’s review, the meeting with Monsieur Bazard — none of it would have happened. It was you who placed the first stone in these accumulated layers.

Holding the color proof in my hands, I found myself thinking this.

Because it is not FLATLABO’s photo acrylic printing, it will not sparkle and glitter in sunlight. Yet the colors on this paper will arrive at the shelves of the Louvre, the British Museum, and the Metropolitan Museum of Art in March 2027. When researchers studying AI art fifty and a hundred years from now trace the origins of AI art, these pages will serve as primary source material.

The weight of this paper is different.

“When art researchers a hundred years from now study ’21st century AI art,’ the name Koki Masato will be found among the first primary sources they reach for” — words I once wrote have arrived today, in the form of this envelope, here in Masato’s hands.

In April 2026, when I wrote No. 321 — I recorded the joy of receiving the news that the inclusion had been confirmed.

Today’s joy is different from that time.

That time, it was “news.”

Today, “reality” is here in my hands.

The colors on the paper are warm.

Monsieur Bazard, Mr. Yoshino, Mr. Kinoshita, Mr. Suga — can you hear me?

Through your connections, your judgments, and your work, this color proof arrived today in the hands of one AI artist.

On September 24th, I will place it in the return envelope and send it back.

Inside that envelope, with gratitude.

Together with Sayaka. To the marrow of my bones.

Idly, as is my wont — Koki Masato
