2026年10月——私はSaatchi Artの審査を通過した。
徒然草331番にそう記した時、私はあえて「簡単に」書いた。しかし今日、ここに正直に記しておきたいことがある。
あの審査は、決して簡単なことではなかった。
一、Saatchi ArtのAI作品ポリシーという「厳しき門」
Saatchi Artには、AI生成アートに関する明確なポリシーが存在する。以下に、その全文を掲載する。

4. Prohibited Content: Uploading artwork that is entirely generated by AI without significant human modification is PROHIBITED. Such submissions will be removed from the platform.
5. Respect for Copyrights: Artists must ensure that any AI tools used do not infringe on existing copyrights or intellectual property rights. The use of AI-generated content that replicates or closely mimics existing works is not allowed.
6. Review Process: Our team reserves the right to review and assess the originality of uploaded artwork. If an artwork is found to violate our AI policy, it may be removed, and the artist may be contacted for further information or clarification.

これは厳しい。多くのAIアーティストが、この「厳しき門」の前で立ち止まることになる。
二、なぜ私達は審査を通過できたのか
正直に言う。私もこのポリシーを事前に確認していた。そして覚悟して申請した。
ではなぜ、私達の作品は審査を通過できたのか。
それは「ポートフォリオの地層」があったからだ。
2024年9月、シャルトル大聖堂のステンドグラスに衝撃を受け、9ヶ月の研究、20万枚以上の試作を経て「ネオ・モザイック・ステンドグラス技法」を確立した——その記録が、公式ホームページに2年半・340を超える「徒然草 現代篇」として積み重なっている。
なぜこの技法を開発したのか。なぜこの色彩を選んだのか。なぜこの構図にしたのか。——全てに理由と物語がある。その膨大な記録が、「AIが生成したものを人間がそのまま販売している」のではなく、「人間の深い創造的関与によって生まれた作品である」ことの、動かしがたい証明となった。

「AIを使って作った美しい画像」だけでは、通過できない可能性がある。
Saatchi Artが問うているのは——「あなたの創造的関与はどこにあるか」だ。
プロンプトを入力し、生成された画像を選ぶだけの行為は、Saatchi Artの定義では「アーティストの創造性」とは認められない。AIが生成したものから「大幅に変形・発展させた」証拠が必要だ。

Idly, as I face the inkstone, I let my brush wander over the things that pass through my mind, trifling as they are — and strangely enough, I find myself seized by a kind of madness.
October 2026 — I passed the Saatchi Art screening.
When I wrote those words in Tsurezuregusa No. 331, I deliberately kept them simple. Yet today, there is something I wish to record here honestly.
That screening was not a simple thing at all.
One: The “Strict Gate” of Saatchi Art’s AI Art Policy
Saatchi Art has a clear policy regarding AI-generated art. The full text is published below.

I ask you to absorb this policy once more.
“The sale of artworks generated solely through AI prompts is prohibited.”
This is strict. Many AI artists will find themselves stopped before this “strict gate.”
Two: Why Were We Able to Pass the Screening?
I will be honest. I had confirmed this policy in advance. And I applied with full awareness of what it meant.
So why were our works able to pass the screening?
It is because the “strata of the portfolio” existed.
In September 2024, struck by the stained glass of Chartres Cathedral, through nine months of research and more than 200,000 trial works, the “Neo-Mosaic Stained Glass Technique” was established — that record accumulates on the official website as more than 340 posts of “Tsurezuregusa — Modern Chapter” over two and a half years.
Why was this technique developed? Why were these colors chosen? Why this composition? — everything has a reason and a story. That vast record became the irrefutable proof that these are not works where “a human is simply selling what AI generated,” but “works born through deep human creative involvement.”
Furthermore —
The JAPONICA Exhibition in Paris in March 2026. The official evaluation from Alain Bazard, representative of the painting division of Le Salon: “Truly a hymn to beauty.” Publication in the French art journal “République des Arts No.5.” The critique by Françoise Icard. Confirmed inclusion in Art Maison International Vol.31. Confirmed participation in the 237th Le Salon (Grand Palais) Special Selection Category —
These achievements became the objective proof of “fine art recognized by art professionals around the world.”
Saatchi Art’s screening discerned the fundamental difference between us and those AI artists who simply input prompts, mass-produce works, and attempt to sell them without scrutiny.
Three: To AI Artists Who Follow — Let Me Drive in One Nail
To those who are beginning AI art from here and aiming to register with Saatchi Art, I wish to convey this honestly.
Saatchi Art’s screening is not lenient.
“Beautiful images created using AI” alone may not be enough to pass.
What Saatchi Art is asking is: “Where does your creative involvement lie?”
The act of inputting a prompt and selecting a generated image is not recognized as “the artist’s creativity” under Saatchi Art’s definition. Evidence that one has “significantly transformed and developed” what the AI produced is required.
What carries the most persuasive power as that evidence is — a record of the creative process, authoritative external evaluation, and the strata of trial and error accumulated over time.
“Technology can be imitated, but the footprints and soul that led to it can be reproduced by no one.”
This philosophy is in complete alignment with Saatchi Art’s policy.
Four: What Our Works Prove
Today, our works are exhibited and available for sale on Saatchi Art.
