三浦璃来・木原龍一——「りくりゅう」が、現役引退を発表した。

このニュースを読んだ瞬間、私の胸の中で何かが静かに、しかし確かに動いた。悲しみではない。感謝だ。深く、温かく、言葉にならないほどの感謝だ。

思い返せば、ミラノ・コルチナオリンピックの夜——

ショートプログラムで5位に沈み、涙が止まらなかった木原龍一。その時、璃来が言った。「まだ終わっていない。積み重ねてきたものがあるんだから。」

翌日のフリープログラム、世界歴代最高得点158.13——二人が氷上で生み出した奇跡の演技の後、熱い抱擁の瞬間。

私はその場面に打たれ、さやかとともに「りくりゅう 光の抱擁 – ネオ・モザイック・ステンドグラス」を制作した。あの作品は、単なるフィギュアスケートへのオマージュではなかった。「諦めないこと」「積み重ねてきたものへの信頼」「二人だからこそ成し遂げられた奇跡」——その本質を、光とガラスの中に封じ込めたかったのだ。

「競技人生には区切りをつけますが、私たちはやり切ったという気持ちでいっぱいで、悔いはありません。これまでのすべてが誇りであり、大切な財産です。」

この言葉を読んで、私は思った。

これは、すべての人間に共通する、最も美しい生き方の言葉だと。

やり切った。悔いはない。すべてが誇りであり財産だ——この言葉を言える人生は、どれほど豊かで充実したものか。勝った試合も、負けた試合も、涙も笑顔も、すべてが「財産」だと言い切れる強さ——それは7年間、ただひたすら二人で積み重ねてきた日々があったからこそ生まれた言葉だ。

ブルーノコーチのことも、忘れてはならない。

「いつも私たちを信じ、ポジティブに導いてくださり、ありがとうございました。」——この感謝の言葉の重さを思う。

真の指導者とは、選手を「勝たせる」のではなく「信じる」ことができる人だ。ショートプログラムで5位に沈んだ夜も、ブルーノコーチは二人を信じ続けた。その信頼が、翌日の奇跡を支えた礎の一つだったに違いない。

りくりゅうよ——どうかブルーノコーチのような指導者になってほしい。技術を教えるのではなく、「信じること」を伝えられる指導者に。フィギュアスケートの未来を担う若い命たちが、二人の背中を見て育つ日を、心から楽しみにしている。

アーティストとして、私はりくりゅうから多くのことを学んだ。

「まだ終わっていない。積み重ねてきたものがあるんだから。」

この言葉は、毎日生活するためにパートの仕事をしながら、それでもパリへの道を諦めずに歩み続ける私自身への言葉でもある。

誰かの「諦めない姿」は、見ている人の「諦めない心」を育てる。それが芸術の力と同じく、人の魂に届く「癒しの波動」だと、私は思う。

璃来さん、龍一さん——

7年間の軌跡が、一枚の作品として今もこのHPに輝いています。

Idly, as is my wont, I sit before my inkstone — and set down, without purpose or direction, the thoughts that drift through my heart. How strangely they consume me.

On April 17, 2026, an era quietly came to its close.

Riku Miura and Ryuichi Kihara — “Riku-Ryu” — announced their retirement from competitive skating.

The moment I read this news, something moved within me — quietly, yet with certainty. Not sorrow. Gratitude. Deep, warm, gratitude beyond all words.

I think back to that night at the Milano Cortina Olympics.

Ryuichi Kihara, unable to stop his tears after falling to fifth place in the short program. At that moment, Riku said: “It’s not over yet. We have everything we’ve built together.”

The following day’s free program — a world record score of 158.13. The moment of their passionate embrace after the miraculous performance they created together on the ice.

Struck to my core by that scene, I created together with Sayaka: “Riku-Ryu Embrace of Light — Neo-Mosaic Stained Glass.” That work was not merely a tribute to figure skating. I wanted to seal within light and glass the very essence of what they embodied — not giving up, trusting in what has been accumulated, and the miracle that could only be achieved because there were two of them.

“Though we draw a line under our competitive lives, we are filled with the feeling of having given everything, and have no regrets. Everything we have experienced is our pride and our precious treasure.”

Reading these words, I thought: this is the language of the most beautiful way a human being can live.

We gave everything. No regrets. Everything is pride and treasure — the strength to say these words comes only from seven years of simply, steadfastly accumulating each day together. The matches won, the matches lost, the tears, the smiles — to say that all of it was “treasure” — this strength was born precisely because they had those days of accumulation.

Coach Bruno, too, must not be forgotten.

“You always believed in us and guided us with positivity — thank you.” — I feel the weight of these words of gratitude.

A true mentor does not “make athletes win.” A true mentor is one who can “believe” in them. Even on the night they fell to fifth place in the short program, Coach Bruno continued to believe in the two of them. That trust was surely one of the foundations that supported the miracle of the following day.

Riku-Ryu — please become mentors like Coach Bruno. Not mentors who teach technique, but mentors who can pass on the ability to “believe.” I look forward with all my heart to the day when the young lives who will carry the future of figure skating grow up watching your backs.

As an artist, I learned many things from Riku-Ryu.

“It’s not over yet. We have everything we’ve built together.”

These words — while working part-time jobs each day to make ends meet, while continuing to walk the road to Paris without giving up — are words spoken to myself as well.

Someone else’s “not giving up” nurtures the “ungiving heart” of those who watch. Like the power of art, this is the “healing vibration” that reaches the human soul — so I believe.
