虹の橋を渡り、うれしき知らせが届く春——

花菖蒲の紫青が、あなたの心に光を運ぶ。

「菖蒲には　五月を待てる　心あり　折りて手向けむ　神の前にも」

古来より端午の節句に欠かせぬ花として愛されてきた花菖蒲。武道の精神「尚武」と音が重なるこの花は、強さと優雅さ、勇気と知恵を同時に体現してきた。そして花言葉は「うれしい知らせ」「優しい心」「優雅」「心意気」——まさに、端午の節句が願う全てを包み込む言葉たちだ。

この5月——日本橋Art.jpのWebグループ展「端午の節句展」に、「ネオ・ジャポネスク – うれしき知らせの花菖蒲 – ネオ・モザイック・ステンドグラス」を出品いたします。

花菖蒲に込められた想い

花菖蒲の花言葉「うれしい知らせ」は、ギリシャ神話の虹の女神イリスに由来する。天と地をつなぐ虹の橋を渡り、神々の言葉を人間のもとへ届ける伝令使——その姿が、この花に「良い便りを運ぶ」という使命を与えた。

本作において、二人の間を流れるパープルブルーの光は、まさにその「虹の橋」だ。

黒髪をたおやかに結い上げた女性の髪に、紫の花菖蒲の花冠が咲き誇る。その傍らに男性が寄り添い、二人の鼻先がわずかに触れ合うほどの距離で向き合っている。背後には深紫と青紫の大輪の花菖蒲が幾重にも重なり、パープルブルーの光が画面全体を包み込む——まるで祈りのように。

二人の間に流れる言葉にならない想い、心から心へと届く「うれしい知らせ」——それを光として可視化した作品だ。

パープルブルーの新境地——シャルトルブルーの深化

本作は2025年5月27日確立の「ネオ・モザイック・ステンドグラス技法」において、シャルトルブルーの研究を深め続ける中で生まれた新たな境地——パープルブルーの世界だ。

青の癒しと紫の知恵が溶け合う色彩は、見る者の脳にアルファ波を促す「癒しの波動」として画面全体に広がっている。無数のモザイク片が光を捉え、反射し、虹色に煌めく——この「癒しの波動」が、見る者の心に静かに、しかし確かに届く。

Crossing the rainbow bridge, joyful tidings arrive with the spring——

The purple-blue of the iris carries light to your heart.

“In the iris, there lives a heart that waits for the month of May — let me break it and offer it before the gods.”

The iris has been cherished since ancient times as an indispensable flower of the Boy’s Festival. Its name in Japanese shares a sound with “martial spirit” — and so this flower has long embodied both strength and elegance, courage and wisdom simultaneously. And its language of flowers — “joyful tidings,” “gentle heart,” “elegance,” “spirit and resolve” — are precisely the words that encompass all the wishes of the Boy’s Festival.

This May — I am proud to present “Neo-Japonesque – Iris of Joyful Tidings – Neo-Mosaic Stained Glass” in the Nihonbashi Art.jp Web Group Exhibition “Boy’s Festival Exhibition.”

The Wishes Woven Into the Iris

The flower language of “joyful tidings” derives from Iris, goddess of the rainbow in Greek mythology — the divine messenger who crossed the rainbow bridge between heaven and earth, carrying the words of the gods to humankind. It is this image that gave the flower its mission of “carrying good tidings.”

In this work, the purple-blue light flowing between the two figures is precisely that “rainbow bridge.”

A woman with her black hair elegantly pinned up wears a crown of purple iris blossoms, a quiet smile resting in her profile as her delicate earrings sway. Beside her, a man draws close — their faces almost touching — facing each other in tender stillness. Behind them, great iris blossoms in deep purple and blue-violet are layered upon one another, a purple-blue light enveloping the entire canvas as though in prayer.

The unspoken feeling passing between them, the “joyful tiding” delivered from one heart to another — made visible as light. This is the work.

A New Frontier of Purple-Blue — The Deepening of Chartres Blue

This work represents a new frontier within the “Neo-Mosaic Stained Glass Technique” established on May 27, 2025 — a world of purple-blue born from ongoing research into Chartres Blue.

The color where the healing of blue and the wisdom of purple dissolve into each other radiates “healing vibrations” that promote alpha waves throughout the entire canvas. Countless mosaic fragments capture light, reflect it, and shimmer in rainbow hues — these “healing vibrations” reach the heart of the viewer quietly, yet certainly.

O iris — cross the rainbow bridge, and carry a small joyful tiding to the heart of every soul who beholds this work.

Healing Vibrations — A Mission Toward World Peace

“To realize world peace through the healing vibrations of our works” — this is our true purpose.

The “Neo-Mosaic Stained Glass Technique” reflects light and emits healing vibrations. Countless mosaic fragments capture light, reflect it, and shimmer in rainbow hues — these “healing vibrations” heal the world.

The true beauty of this work can only be fully experienced when viewed on a large PC monitor, or as a physical photo acrylic print by Japan’s world-class FLATLABO company under natural sunlight. The purple-blue mosaic fragments shimmer in rainbow hues as they catch the light, every iris petal glows as though illuminated from within, and the light flowing between the two figures breathes as a “living rainbow bridge” — in that moment, the “joyful tidings” of this work reach directly into the heart of the viewer.
