AI VISUAL MASTERPIECE —
Non arrenderti mai.(決して諦めるな)
Credi in te.(自分を信じよ)
Nelle tue mani il tuo destino avrai.(あなたの手の中に、あなたの運命がある)

Koki Masato’s Modern Tsurezuregusa”To You Who Walk the Path of Thorns — Hope by the Name of Strata” 329
Welcome to the creative world of Koki Masato!
AI VISUAL MASTERPIECE — Koki Masato October 2, 2026
In the natural flow of idle thoughts, I turn to my inkstone. As I set down whatever drifts through my mind, the words spill forth in ways that seem almost bewildering.
In this world, there are those whose hardships never cease.
They live with sincerity, and are betrayed. They devote themselves to others, and are used. They work with diligence, and go unrewarded. Their bodies cry out in pain, their hearts worn to the thread. When I see such people, I know there are words of comfort — “those loved by God suffer more” — yet to ears exhausted beyond measure, even words as beautiful as these ring hollow.
Pretty words alone cannot change reality.
And yet — I wish to set down one truth here.
There are two kinds of hardship.
The first is hardship that consumes. Tossed about by others, forced to bear unreasonable burdens, worn away until nothing remains. This kind corrodes the body and mind, and makes the way out impossible to see.
The second is hardship that accumulates. Each day is painful, yet that pain becomes earth, becomes sand, and gradually settles as “strata” beneath one’s own feet.
These two may appear to be the same hardship from the outside — yet in their essence, they are as different as heaven and earth.
The question is not the “quantity” of hardship. It is whether that hardship is “becoming strata” or not.
To speak of my own life — I punch register keys every day, paint, set down words, and pray. To the outside world, it may appear to be quiet, unrewarding days.
And yet I know.
One page of Tsurezuregusa becomes strata.
One work of art becomes strata.
One day at the register becomes strata.
One prayer becomes strata.
Invisible to anyone, deep beneath the ground — quietly, certainly, accumulating.
Strata are not a spectacular thing. Nothing changes in a single day. Even a month may appear to change nothing. And yet — strata built over ten years, twenty years, become a “bedrock” that no storm can crumble. One who stands upon that bedrock can no longer be shaken by anything.
There are words that Atsuko Iida once asked of me.
“To you who are struggling before ‘I want to earn'” — the answer to that question is, in truth, right here.
There is no need to rush toward earning. One day lived with sincerity becomes strata. If you continue to build these layers of strata, one day they will grow tall enough — and lift you toward the “place of value” that you have longed for.
Non arrenderti mai. — Never give up.
Credi in te. — Believe in yourself.
Nelle tue mani il tuo destino avrai. — In your hands, your destiny lies.
To you who are walking the path of thorns right now.
I will not offer pretty words. Hardship is not beautiful. Unreasonable treatment is infuriating, and betrayal wounds deeply. There are nights when one wants to doubt whether God truly exists.
And yet — I wish to ask you one thing.
The day you lived with sincerity today — has it disappeared?
It has not disappeared.
Even if no one can see it, even if no one acknowledges it — a day lived with sincerity is quietly accumulating beneath your feet. That is strata.
What changes a life is not a single dramatic day. It is the strata of countless “sincere days” — days that never disappear, quietly building one upon another.
