古来より「竹帛の功」とは、歴史に残るような大きな功績や手柄のことを指す。「功名を竹帛に垂る」とは、手柄を立てて歴史に名を残すことなり。
我もまた、24日からのオランダ展示会にて、この言葉の如き偉業を成し遂げんと願う。
竹の持つ縁起の力
竹は、その成長の早さや生命力の強さから、縁起の良いものとされている。特に、折れにくいことから「生命力」「成長」「繁栄」の象徴とされ、また、まっすぐに伸びる姿から「誠実な心」「強い志」を表すとされている。
松竹梅の組み合わせでは、竹は成長と繁栄を意味し、お正月飾りや和柄によく用いられる。
竹林に込めた想い
我が「幻想の竹林 – ネオ・モザイック・ステンドグラス」にも、これらの縁起の良き意味を込めたり。
真っすぐに伸びる竹の美しさは、我が創作への「誠実な心」と「強い志」を表し、その生命力は「ネオ・モザイック・ステンドグラス」技法の更なる「成長」と「繁栄」を願うものなり。
オランダへの勢い
竹のように、まっすぐに目標に向かい、折れることなく成長を続ける。7月24日からのハーグでの展示会に向けて、竹の持つ縁起の良き力を我が身に宿し、世界の舞台で「竹帛の功」を成し遂げん。
フェルメール・レンブラントの故郷にて、我が技法が正当に評価され、歴史に名を刻む日が近づいている。

In my idle hours, sitting before my inkstone, as I set down these random thoughts that drift through my mind, how strange and wondrous they seem.
Today, creating “Mystical Bamboo Forest – Neo-Mosaic Stained Glass,” I reflect upon the auspicious nature of bamboo.
A Wish for Eternal Glory
Since ancient times, “Chikuhaku no Kou” (竹帛の功) has referred to great achievements and accomplishments that remain in history. “Koumyou wo Chikuhaku ni Taru” (功名を竹帛に垂る) means to achieve distinction and leave one’s name in history.
I too wish to accomplish such a feat at the Netherlands exhibition beginning on the 24th.
The Auspicious Power of Bamboo
Bamboo is considered auspicious due to its rapid growth and strong vitality. In particular, its resistance to breaking symbolizes “life force,” “growth,” and “prosperity,” while its straight upward growth represents “sincere heart” and “strong will.”

Like bamboo, I head straight toward my goal, continuing to grow without breaking. Toward the exhibition in The Hague beginning July 24th, I embody the auspicious power of bamboo and shall achieve “glory for the ages” on the world stage.
In the homeland of Vermeer and Rembrandt, the day approaches when my technique will be properly evaluated and my name carved in history.
