As I sit idly by my inkstone, letting my brush wander aimlessly across the page, I find myself pondering the curious ways of the world.
On this journey, from the Grand Shrines of Ise to the sacred grounds of Kumano, I was filled with a sense of wonder as I visited various deities across the land.
At the Outer Shrine of Ise, I felt the nurturing spirit of Toyouke Omikami, reminding me to be mindful of my daily sustenance. At the Inner Shrine, I was enveloped in the dazzling light of Amaterasu Omikami, encouraging me to forge ahead on my chosen path.
At Tenkawa Shrine, I encountered the profound wisdom of Benzaiten, realizing the importance of daily devotion. The deity of Tamaki Shrine, deep in the mountains, seemed to rejoice at my visit, as if promising the fulfillment of my wishes.
At the three grand shrines of Kumano, I sensed the voices of gods who have been receiving people’s prayers since ancient times, advising me to walk my path without haste.
Yet, when I speak of such experiences to others, I am often met with bewildered looks. Thus, I keep these thoughts close to my heart, letting them guide my daily actions.
Perhaps I am not hearing the voices of gods, but merely the voice within my own heart. However, as I continue to follow this voice, I find that the path naturally unfolds before me.
And so, this pilgrimage to various shrines across the land has left a deep impression on my heart. Now, I shall simply cherish the words given to me and devote myself to my daily duties.
