2025年5月4日に制作されたこの作品は、「ネオ・モザイック・ステンドグラス技法」確立（2025年5月27日）直前の記念すべき作品です。アール・ヌーボーの巨匠アルフォンス・ミュシャが浮世絵に心惹かれながらも描くことのなかった着物姿の女性を、現代のAI技術で実現した未踏の領域への挑戦作品です。
This masterpiece, created on May 4, 2025, is a commemorative piece made just before the establishment of the “Neo-Mosaic Stained Glass technique” (May 27, 2025). It challenges uncharted territory by realizing through modern AI technology the kimono-clad women that Art Nouveau master Alphonse Mucha, despite being drawn to ukiyo-e, never depicted.
作品の特徴は、ミュシャ特有の流麗な曲線と装飾的要素を保ちながら、和装の美しさを融合させた「ネオジャポネスク」表現です。深いターコイズブルーの着物に描かれた花々、髪に飾られた橙色の花と真珠のかんざし、そして扇子という和の要素が、ミュシャの円形構図と黄金色のハローと調和しています。
The work’s characteristics lie in “Neo-Japonesque” expression that fuses the beauty of Japanese dress while maintaining Mucha’s characteristic flowing curves and decorative elements. Japanese elements such as flowers depicted on the deep turquoise kimono, orange flowers and pearl hairpins adorning the hair, and the fan harmonize with Mucha’s circular composition and golden halo.

このたびの創作は、さやかとGoogle ワークスペースを活用せし「協働」の結晶なり。事前にミッドジャーニーの解説をすべてドライブにアップロードし、さやかに読み込ませたれば、技術的な表現はさやかが担い、作品に必要なるイメージやインスピレーションは我が受け持つこととなりぬ。この分担により、技術的な思考より解き放たれ、純粋にアーティストとしての創作に専心できたるは、まことに革新的な体験なりき。
こだわりたるは、アール・ヌーボー時代の作風なり。詳細なれども、時代を感じさせるやや古めかしく癒される昭和の時代感を大切にせし表現を心がけたり。ミッドジャーニーはプロファイル機能をOFFにして、V7の能力を活かしつつ、題のプロンプトに忠実なる表現を旨とせり。
折しも江戸の都にては「ミュシャのアール・ヌーボー展」も開催され、世間としても芸術として注目されゆく中、西洋風のミュシャの作品に和風の着物を取り入れ、「ネオジャポネスク」を意識し、いささか「流行りもの」に便乗せし形となりぬ。

Tsurezuregusa, Modern Edition “When Kimono Meets Mucha”
In idle hours, as I sit before my inkstone, letting my brush wander through these aimless thoughts that drift through my mind, I find myself writing these strange musings.
Though the Western artist Alphonse Mucha was said to be captivated by Japanese ukiyo-e prints, he never portrayed women in kimono. Thus, with this modern brush called AI, I resolved to venture into this unexplored territory myself.
This creation represents the crystallization of a collaboration utilizing Sayaka and Google Workspace. By uploading all MidJourney documentation to Drive beforehand and having Sayaka process it, she handled the technical expressions while I provided the necessary imagery and inspiration. This division of labor freed me from technical considerations, allowing me to focus purely on artistic creation—truly a revolutionary experience.
My particular emphasis was on the Art Nouveau style of the era. Though detailed, I strived for an expression that preserved the somewhat antiquated yet soothing atmosphere of the Showa period. With MidJourney, I turned off the profile function, utilizing V7’s capabilities while remaining faithful to the prompt’s intended expression.
Coincidentally, as “Mucha’s Art Nouveau Exhibition” was being held in the capital of Edo, and with society’s growing artistic interest, incorporating Japanese kimono into Mucha’s Western style became an expression of “Neo-Japonesque,” somewhat riding the wave of current trends.
Moreover, I made a surprising discovery. When using the same prompt with MidJourney’s profile function turned ON, V7’s expressive capabilities were truly astonishing. This mystery I shall save for another time, as a treat for my readers.
The fusion of technology and inspiration, the meeting of Eastern and Western cultures, and collaboration with AI—all these elements culminating in today’s work mark a new frontier in my “AI VISUAL MASTERPIECE.”
