この度、パリのクリスマスマーケットへ届ける作品「ネオ・ジャポネスク二連画 – ミュシャのクリスマス – ネオ・モザイック・ステンドグラス」について記さん。
第一章：クリスマスというテーマ—相手を想う心
クリスマス—それは、愛を分かち合う祝祭である。
本作品のコンセプトは、「クリスマスのプレゼントをもらう人、送る人、両方がお互いに相手を思い合い、幸せで愛にあふれ、笑顔になるような作品にしたい」である。
贈る人は、受け取る人の笑顔を思い浮かべながら。
受け取る人は、贈ってくれた人の優しさに感謝しながら。
お互いを想い合う—それが、クリスマスの本質である。
第二章：ミュシャと和装—ネオジャポネスク
アルフォンス・ミュシャ—アール・ヌーボーの巨匠は、日本美術に深く影響を受けた芸術家であった。
本作品は、その逆—ミュシャの様式に和装を取り入れた「ネオジャポネスク」である。
二連画の構成：
🌹 左の美人—赤い着物 情熱的な赤い着物、白い花と黄金の葉。赤は愛と生命の力を表す。
✨ 右の美人—黄金の着物 落ち着いた黄金の着物、黄金の葉。黄金は希望と神聖さを表す。
二人の美人が、対となってクリスマスの愛を表現している。
第三章：小さな宝石—20cm × 20cmの美学
オランダの協力者・菅氏が撮影してくださった画像を見て、改めて感動した。
「メッチャ綺麗に仕上がってました。小さい分逆に厚みも感じられて良かった気がします。」
20cm × 20cm—手のひらに収まる小さなサイズ。
しかし、この小ささが、宝石のような輝きを生む。
世界最高峰のドイツのプレキシグラス印刷により、デジタルデータの美しさがそのまま実物として再現されている。

2025年9月23日に制作されたこの二連画は、『MARCHÉ D’ART DE NOËL PARIS 2025』への出品作品として、記念すべき徒然草200回目の発表作品です。「ネオ・モザイック・ステンドグラス技法」確立（2025年5月27日）後の最新研究成果として、6月2日の「Encounter of Kimono and Mucha」発表以降継続してきた「ミュシャの着物姿画風」研究の新たな展開を示しています。
This diptych, created on September 23, 2025, serves as an exhibition piece for ‘MARCHÉ D’ART DE NOËL PARIS 2025’ and marks the commemorative 200th publication of Tsurezuregusa. As the latest research result following the establishment of the “Neo-Mosaic Stained Glass technique” (May 27, 2025), it demonstrates new developments in “Mucha’s kimono-style painting” research continued since the June 2 “Encounter of Kimono and Mucha” presentation.

Innovative Expression Format Responding to Hearts’ Subtleties
This represents an innovative attempt to compose the traditional vertical Mucha series as 20cm×20cm square “diptych” format. Created as a new expressive form allowing recipients to enjoy individualistic works “twice over,” it was designed with hopes for smiles from both those who give and receive these as presents.

As a special work for the first-ever exhibition in longed-for Paris at “Christmas Art Market 2025 Paris,” this piece offers a contemporary reinterpretation of the Japonisme beloved by Art Nouveau master Mucha. The left panel features white poinsettias and golden decorations against a deep turquoise background, while the right displays poinsettia flowers against a warm golden backdrop, creating a sacred Christmas atmosphere.

The true appeal of this work series can only be fully appreciated through viewing on large PC monitors or actual pieces created by world-class German plexiglass printing. Coinciding with Tokyo’s “Mucha Exhibition” this year amid growing attention to Mucha’s works, this represents an innovative attempt conscious of “Neo-Japonesque.”

Tsurezuregusa – Modern Edition: “Mucha’s Christmas—Prayer Delivered to Paris” 215
In idle moments, sitting before my inkstone, I write down the fleeting thoughts that pass through my heart—how strange and bewildering they are.
Today, I take up my brush to record my thoughts on the work being delivered to the Paris Christmas Market: “Neo-Japonesque Diptych – Mucha’s Christmas – Neo-Mosaic Stained Glass.”
Chapter One: The Theme of Christmas—Hearts That Think of Each Other
Christmas—it is a celebration of sharing love.
The concept of this work is: “I want to create a work where both the person receiving a Christmas present and the person giving it think of each other, filled with happiness and love, bringing smiles to their faces.”
The giver, imagining the recipient’s smile.
The recipient, grateful for the giver’s kindness.
Thinking of each other—this is the essence of Christmas.
Chapter Two: Mucha and Kimono—Neo-Japonesque
Alphonse Mucha—the Art Nouveau master was an artist deeply influenced by Japanese art.
This work is the reverse—“Neo-Japonesque,” incorporating kimono into Mucha’s style.
Diptych Composition:
🌹 Left Beauty—Red Kimono Passionate red kimono, white flowers and golden leaves. Red represents love and the power of life.
✨ Right Beauty—Golden Kimono Calm golden kimono, golden leaves. Gold represents hope and divinity.
Two beauties, forming a pair, expressing the love of Christmas.
Chapter Three: Small Jewel—The Aesthetics of 20cm × 20cm
Viewing the images photographed by our Dutch collaborator, Mr. Suga, I was moved once again.
“It turned out incredibly beautiful. Because it’s small, I feel it actually has more presence and thickness, which is good.”
20cm × 20cm—a small size that fits in the palm of your hand.
However, this smallness creates a jewel-like radiance.
Through world-class German plexiglass printing, the beauty of digital data is reproduced as-is in physical form.
Even through the protective film, you can sense:
- The delicate expressions of Mucha’s beauties
- The vivid colors of red and gold
- The sparkle of countless glass fragment mosaics
Because the work is small, there is concentrated beauty.
Chapter Four: The Meaning of Diptych—Dialogue and Love
Why a diptych?
It is to express hearts that think of each other.
The left beauty and the right beauty—they wear different kimonos, but exist in the same world.
Red and gold. Passion and hope. The giver and the receiver.
When two works stand together, a dialogue of love is born.
Christmas is not celebrated alone. It is celebrated together with loved ones.
The diptych expresses the beauty of “being together.”
Chapter Five: To the Paris Christmas Market
November 28-30, 2025, this work will be exhibited at the special venue in front of the Tuileries Garden in Paris.
Right next to the Louvre Museum—in the heart of Paris, the city of art.
And during the Christmas season—when people share love.
Kimono-clad beauties, created with respect for Mucha, will deliver Eastern beauty to the people of Paris.
This is not merely an art exhibition. It is a cultural bridge and a message of love.

Great thoughts embedded in small works.
Both those who give Christmas presents and those who receive them—thinking of each other, filled with happiness and love, smiling.
