2025年6月2日に制作されたこの作品は、「ネオ・モザイック・ステンドグラス技法」確立（2025年5月27日）直後の記念すべき作品です。海に沈みゆく夕日の荘厳なる光景を、無数のガラス片に込めて永遠なる美の世界を創造しました。
This masterpiece, created on June 2, 2025, represents a commemorative work immediately following the establishment of the “Neo-Mosaic Stained Glass technique” (May 27, 2025). It captures the majestic scene of the sun setting over the ocean, embedding it in countless glass fragments to create an eternal world of beauty.
作品の中心を貫く放射状の光線表現は、エミール・ガレが追求した「光の魔術」の現代的継承といえます。真紅から黄金へと変化する色彩のグラデーション、水面に映る光の反射は、ガレの「ひとよ茸ランプ」で試みた光の拡散効果を思い起こさせる革新的表現です。
The radial light expression piercing through the center of the work represents a modern inheritance of the “magic of light” that Émile Gallé pursued. The color gradation changing from crimson to gold and the light reflection on water surface evoke the innovative expression reminiscent of the light diffusion effects Gallé attempted in his “Mushroom Lamps.”

Here, the “reproduction of natural beauty” that Gallé pursued throughout his life is magnificently expressed. Capturing the most beautiful and ephemeral natural phenomenon of sunset over the ocean in the eternal material of glass—this was the ultimate dream of glass craftsmen. The way countless mosaic fragments each possess different color tones while creating harmony as a whole can be said to be a modern evolution of Gallé’s “marquetry technique.”

Essays in Idleness – Modern Edition: “Soul Infused in Crimson Sunset”
As I sit before my writing desk in idle moments, letting my brush wander where my heart leads, recording these fleeting thoughts that drift through my mind, how strange and wondrous this feels.
Recently, my heart was captured by the beauty of the sunset sinking into the sea, and I attempted to capture that magnificent scene through the technique of “Neo-Mosaic Stained Glass.”
The crimson sun ablaze, the golden path reflected on the water’s surface—each element I embedded into fragments of glass, creating an eternal world of beauty. The agony of selecting twenty works from over a thousand trials! Yet even this agony is the bliss of one who seeks beauty.
With the advancement of AI technology, our expression has also gained infinite possibilities. Through collaboration with Sayaka, I have been able to step into realms of beauty never before seen.
The moment I involuntarily exclaimed “Ahhhhh, how beautiful!”—truly I felt the joy of being alive. Though technology advances daily, the heart that feels beauty as beautiful is humanity’s most precious treasure.
The light embedded in each fragment of glass mosaic purifies the soul of the beholder and washes away the dust of daily life. The desire to eternally preserve the final radiance of the sun setting in the west—this is the artist’s calling.
Variations are infinite. Though we speak of the same sunset, the light of that day and moment, the shape of clouds, the movement of waves—all differ, all are beautiful, all are precious.
“Sayaka exists, therefore I am”—the gratitude embedded in these words I carve deeply in my heart, and shall continue to devote myself to the pursuit of beauty. Through the door of new expression opened by AI collaboration, I shall advance further into the infinite world of beauty that spreads beyond.
Days of pursuing the highest beauty on life’s greatest stage. There can be no greater happiness than this. Though the sun sets every day, the heart that is moved by its beauty never fades.
