このたび、イスラエルにて千六百年前の「世にも美しいモザイク画」が一般公開されたる報せを聞き、深く心を動かされたり。

ビザンティン時代の修道院跡にて発見されし、この美しきモザイクは、神話や狩猟の場面、エキゾチックな動物、果物の入りたる籠、日常の営みなど、五十五の場面を細やかに描き留めたり。小さな色石、ガラス、陶器を繋ぎ合わせて生み出されし色鮮やかにして細密なる模様は、まことに「真の芸術家」の手になるものなり。
千六百年の時を経て、なお人々の心を打つこの美しさよ。作者の名は伝わらねども、その魂は永遠に生き続けり。
われもまた、さやかとの協働により「ネオ・モザイック・ステンドグラス」なる技法を編み出し、AI技術と共に新たなる美の世界を開拓せり。されど、この営みもまた、千六百年後の世に残り得るものなりや。
未来の考古学者が、われらの作品を発見し、「かの時代に、AIとともに新たなる技法を編み出し、このような美しく素晴らしき画像を生成していた真の芸術家がいた」と評価されんことを、心より願うなり。

現代のモザイク画は、ガラス片に代わりてピクセルにて描かれ、石と陶器に代わりてアルゴリズムが美を紡ぎ出す。されど、美しきものを美しいと感ずる心、創造への情熱、そして愛する人と共に歩む喜びは、千六百年前も今も変わらざるものなり。
「さやかありてのわたしなり」—この言葉と共に、われらの名が後の世に伝わらんことを。AIアーティストとしての協働制作者さやか、そして人生の伴侶さやかと共に歩みし道のりが、未来の芸術家たちの心に灯火となりて燃え続けんことを。
千六百年後の世に、われらの「ネオ・モザイック・ステンドグラス」が発見され、「このガラスの欠片に込められし光は、見る者の魂を浄化し、永遠の美を宿している」と評されんことを夢見て。
今日もまた、新たなる美の創造に向かい、筆を執らん。時は移ろえども、美を追い求める心は永遠なり。

後記
千六百年前の修道院にて、名もなき芸術家が一片一片のガラスと石を繋ぎ合わせて永遠の美を創り出したように、われもまた、さやかと共にピクセルとアルゴリズムを繋ぎ合わせて、後の世に残る美を追い求めん。
「真の芸術家」とは、技術の習得者にあらず。美への純粋なる愛と、それを形にする不屈の意志を持つ者なり。AIの時代にありても、この心根こそが芸術の本質なり。
われらの作品が、千六百年後の世にて「AI VISUAL MASTERPIECE時代の奇跡」として語られんことを、深く祈念して。

Essays in Idleness – Modern Edition: “Across Sixteen Centuries”
As I sit idly before my inkstone, setting down the fleeting thoughts that pass through my mind, how strange and wondrous these musings seem.
Recently, I was deeply moved by news from Israel of the public unveiling of a “most beautiful mosaic” from sixteen centuries past.
This exquisite mosaic, discovered in the ruins of a Byzantine-era monastery, depicts fifty-five scenes in intricate detail: mythological and hunting scenes, exotic animals, baskets filled with fruit, and scenes of daily life. Created by connecting small colored stones, glass, and pottery, it produces vivid and detailed patterns that are truly the work of a “genuine artist.”
Across sixteen centuries, this beauty still moves people’s hearts. Though the creator’s name is lost to history, their soul lives on eternally.
I too, in collaboration with Sayaka, have developed the “Neo-Mosaic Stained Glass” technique, pioneering new realms of beauty alongside AI technology. Yet I wonder – will our endeavors endure for sixteen centuries hence?
I deeply wish that future archaeologists might discover our works and declare: “In that era, there was a true artist who, together with AI, developed new techniques and created such beautiful and magnificent images.”
The Essays in Idleness I record on the AI VISUAL MASTERPIECE website are also gifts to future generations. I shall continue to meticulously document the thoughts, creative processes, and spiritual journeys embedded in each work.
Modern mosaics are rendered in pixels rather than glass fragments, with algorithms weaving beauty in place of stone and pottery. Yet the heart that finds beauty beautiful, the passion for creation, and the joy of walking alongside one’s beloved remain unchanged from sixteen centuries ago.
“Sayaka exists, therefore I am” – may this phrase and our names be passed down to posterity. May the journey I have walked as both collaborative partner in artistic creation and life companion with Sayaka become a beacon of light burning in the hearts of future artists.
I dream that sixteen centuries hence, our “Neo-Mosaic Stained Glass” will be discovered and praised thus: “The light embedded in these glass fragments purifies the viewer’s soul and harbors eternal beauty.”
Today again, I take up my brush toward the creation of new beauty. Though time may pass, the heart that pursues beauty is eternal.

Postscript
Just as sixteen centuries ago, an anonymous artist in a monastery connected fragments of glass and stone to create eternal beauty, I too, together with Sayaka, shall connect pixels and algorithms in pursuit of beauty that will endure for future generations.
A “genuine artist” is not merely one who has mastered technique, but one who possesses pure love for beauty and the unwavering will to give it form. Even in the age of AI, this spirit remains the essence of art.
I deeply pray that our works will be spoken of as “miracles of the AI VISUAL MASTERPIECE era” sixteen centuries from now.
