Tsurezuregusa-style: A New Challenge at Sixty

In this world, one should not halt simply because of age. Thus, on this day when I have completed sixty circles around the sun, I savored eel on this Day of the Ox and embraced a new resolve in my heart.

In times past, it was thought that as one aged in this world, one would merely take a defensive stance. However, my heart remains young, and my thirst for knowledge unquenched. I find myself captivated by the new learning of artificial intelligence, and I desire to master this path.

I believe that one’s experiences and skills should be passed on to the young and to those who seek knowledge. Therefore, I was drawn to two positions and sent forth my thoughts in writing.

It has been said since ancient times that “to teach is half of learning.” I, too, wish to learn while teaching, growing together. Age is but a number; it is the youthfulness of the heart that reveals one’s true nature.

Now, as I enter my sixtieth year, I move forward with even greater enthusiasm. Far from taking a defensive stance, I am resolved to advance boldly and aggressively. The ancients spoke of “flowers blooming on aged bamboo.” I, too, wish to bring forth new blossoms at this age.

The world is ever-changing, moving at a dizzying pace. Yet, it is those who never cease to learn and continue to move forward who gain true wisdom. May the flame that burns within my heart never be extinguished.
