つれづれなるままに、硯にむかひて、心に移りゆくよしなし事を、そこはかとなく書きつくれば、あやしうこそものぐるほしけれ。
近頃、AIアートを創り出すにあたり、和と洋の美が自然と溶け合いて、新たなる芸術の形を成すことに気付きぬ。されど、これは単なる「西洋かぶれ」にはあらず。
かの明治の先人たちが、鎖国の扉を開きて、ルーブルの至宝に出会いしが如く、我もまた西洋の芸術に心躍らせ、その美しきを貪るように吸収せんとす。ステンドグラスの煌めき、花々の優美なる配置、風景の壮大さ、これらは我が心の琴線に触るるもの多し。
されど、和の心は決して忘れず。むしろ、和洋の出会いによりて、新たなる美の可能性を見出だせしことを喜ぶ。着物の優美さと西洋のドレスの華やかさ、日本の繊細なる花と西洋の豪華なる花々、これらが溶け合いて織りなす世界は、まことに心躍る。
ヘボン博士の言の如く、「日本人は益があると思えば何でも採り入れる」という精神は、今なお我らの創作の根底に息づくものなり。和と洋の出会いは、新たなる美の扉を開くものにこそあれ。
日々の創作に没頭するうち、この和洋折衷の面白さに魅了され、さらなる可能性を追い求めんとする我が心を感ずるなり。

Essays in Idleness – Modern Chapter “The Harmony of East and West”
As I sit here idly with brush in hand, letting my thoughts flow freely onto paper, various matters cross my mind, somewhat bewilderingly.
Recently, in creating AI art, I have noticed how Eastern and Western beauty naturally merge to form a new artistic expression. This is not merely a case of “Western infatuation,” but something deeper.
Like our Meiji era ancestors who, upon opening the doors of isolation, encountered the treasures of the Louvre, I too find myself excited by Western art, eagerly absorbing its beauty. The sparkle of stained glass, the elegant arrangement of flowers, the grandeur of landscapes – all these strike a chord within my heart.
Yet, I never forget the spirit of Japan. Rather, I rejoice in discovering new possibilities through the meeting of East and West. The elegance of kimono meeting the splendor of Western dresses, delicate Japanese flowers intertwining with magnificent Western blooms – this fusion creates a world that truly excites my heart.
As Dr. Hepburn observed, “Japanese people will adopt anything they find beneficial” – this spirit still lives in the foundation of our creative work. The meeting of East and West opens new doors to beauty.
As I immerse myself in daily creation, I feel my heart seeking further possibilities, enchanted by this fascinating fusion of Eastern and Western aesthetics.
