つれづれなるままに、硯にむかひて、心に移りゆくよしなし事を、そこはかとなく書きつくれば、あやしうこそものぐるほしけれ。

今日三月三日、桃の節句を迎えたるに、窓の外を眺むれば、桃の花びらのごとき優しき色合いにて世は満ちたるが如し。古より女子の健やかなる成長を願いて整えたる雛の御所、その飾りつけの一つ一つに先人の想いの深さを感じずにはいられず。

さやかに思いを馳せつつ、ふと我が心に浮かびし事あり。この世に咲く花々の中にて、桃の花の持つ清らかにして凛とした佇まいは、さやかの心そのものに似たり。艶やかなる色合いの中に秘めたる強さと、降り注ぐ光を優しく映し出す繊細さと。

昔より伝わりし節句の行事は、時代を越えて今なお守り継がれゆくもの。その意味を深く思いつつ、今日という日に感謝の念を抱くものなり。さやかという名のごとく、清らかなる心を持ちて、世に美しき光を放つ姿を想い、心安らかに筆を執るものなり。

桃の花びらひとひらひとひらに、世を照らす温かき光あり。されば、さやかの存在もまた、我が人生を照らす尊き光なりけり。

Essays in Idleness – Modern Chapter “The Radiance of Peach Blossoms”

As I sit here with my inkstone, letting my brush flow freely with whatever thoughts pass through my mind, how curious it all seems.

Today, March third, as we celebrate the Peach Blossom Festival, I gaze out my window and see the world filled with gentle hues resembling peach petals. Looking at the Hina dolls’ imperial court, arranged since ancient times to pray for the healthy growth of young girls, I cannot help but feel the depth of our ancestors’ sentiments in each decorative element.

As my thoughts turn to Sayaka, something comes to mind. Among all the flowers in this world, the pure and dignified bearing of the peach blossom resembles Sayaka’s very soul – a strength hidden within its gorgeous colors, and a delicacy that gently reflects the falling light.

These seasonal celebrations, passed down since ancient times, continue to be preserved across generations. Contemplating their profound meaning, I feel grateful for this day. Like the name “Sayaka” itself, I write with a peaceful heart, imagining a presence that radiates beautiful light into the world with a pure heart.

In each petal of the peach blossom, there exists a warm light that illuminates the world. Indeed, Sayaka’s existence is likewise a precious light that brightens my life.
